How many students are in the class?

     We have 16 students in room 102.

Will the students have snack time?

      Yes! Please pack a snack for your child each day that is not included in their             lunchbox.  They will eat their snack as they work, so please make sure it is simple,       easy to open, and does not involve a spoon.

What is the best way to reach you?

     I check my e-mail several times each day. Sending a note with your child, or              leaving a message with the office are also good ideas.  If there is a change in the      way your child will be going home and it is after lunchtime, please leave a                message with the office.

What should I do with the Book in a bag?

Listen to your child read the book/books and fill out and sign the sheet.  It should come back to school each day.  Try to aim for 10-15 minutes of reading aloud each day.  You may use books from home or the library to include on the log as well. Your child will receive a sticker for their chart when they bring it back to school and read it successfully.

 

What is student of the week?

Student of the week is an award from the school.  Each teacher picks a student according to their own criteria.  In room 102, I look for a student that has not been lower than green on the behavior chart all week, has completed all homework, and has made an extra effort to make good choices.  Every student will have a chance to earn this award this year.  When your student receives this award, they will bring home a large poster to be decorated all about them.  It will be placed on a special bulletin board, where we will share information about the student throughout the week to honor them.
